October's Mid Month Update

Outside my window . . . It's mostly cloudy and cool.  I think it's supposed to be in the mid 60s today but it doesn't feel that warm yet.

I am thinking . . . I have less than 10 weeks to get ready for Baby Boy and I'm not even close to being ready!

I am thankful for . . . hooded sweatshirts.  They are perfect for this kind of weather and oh so comfortable!

In the kitchen . . . Krissy is sitting next to me eating her lunch.

I am wearing . . . I am slighly embarrassed to say I haven't even gotten out of my pajamas yet today!

I am creating . . . a doggy shirt for CeCe to wear to the parade on Saturday!

I am going . . . to be switching the kids closets over to fall/winter clothes.  I'm sure as soon as I'm done, we'll have record high temps... seems like that always happens.

I am wondering . . . what the doctor will tell me is wrong with Krissy.  Her labs came back normal (except her sed rate was higher than normal so we'll repeat that lab in a couple weeks) and the next step is taking them stool samples.  Hoping it's something minor she outgrows - whatever "it" is.

I am reading . . . articles on everything baby.  Even though I've done this three times, I still feel like I could do things better!

I am hoping . . . To start Christmas shopping soon and be done by early November.

I am looking forward to . . . carving pumpkins with the kids.  We are making a school lesson out of it, and I'm so excited!

I am hearing . . .  Allie & Hayden chatting and Krissy smacking her musical toy while she dances to it.

One of my favorite things . . .is a new quilt I just won from my nieces' school.  Some lady spent hours and hours making it, and it's beautiful!  It's added a lot of color in our family room and I think it's really cool that I actually won it!  I never win anything!

A few plans for the rest of the week . . .cleaning up after the kids, trying to make progress in preparing the house for #4, parade this weekend, and trying to decide what the kids are going to be for Halloween!

August's Mid-Month Update

Outside my window . . . it is absolutely beautiful!  I wish I could bottle up this warm sunshiny weather!

I am thinking . . . I love that my girls nap at the same time in the afternoon!  It's a lovely break for me and I get great one-on-one time with Hayden.

I am thankful for . . . ultrasounds!  Looks like we will be having a lot with this baby so it will be fun to see him/her so frequently!

In the kitchen . . . my sink is full of dishes I need to hand wash - boo!

I am wearing . . . maternity jean capris and a brown maternity tshirt

I am creating . . . an assortment of things to make for our little gender reveal get-together on Saturday.  Sweets don't sound good to me so I'm having a hard time deciding what to make.  Maybe I'll just serve nachos and pizza...only joking - I'm planning on cupcakes, chocolate covered pretzels and maybe a chex mix.

I am going . . . bonkers trying to keep referring to baby #4 in gender neutral terms!  I had no idea it would be so hard to know and not accidentally say!  Just two more days, and the secret will be out!

I am wondering . . . what we will end up naming the new baby.  Kevin is picking the name this time and he's not really in any hurry to pick a name.  Maybe that's a mom thing?  Regardless, I'm having to practice patience, which is never a bad thing.

I am reading . . . I've given up my reading time at night and lately have been listening to old sermons from Brand New Church.  They have a free app (just type in 'Brand New Church') and their pastor is absolutely wonderful!  So entertaining to listen to!

I am hoping . . . to go back to Smother's Park in Owensboro again soon!  It's beautiful and kid and dog friendly!

I am looking forward to . . . a visit from my sis in the next couple weeks!

I am hearing . . . the tv and cicadas outside

Around the house . . . there are toys strung out everywhere.  I would really enjoy and use a play room.  Maybe one day!

One of my favorite things . . . is watching my kids play and interact together.

A few plans for the rest of the week . . .baking, party planning, errand running, and enjoying the weekend with my family - and if I just get lots of extra time, then I'll start working on some new dresses I've been wanting to make for the girls!

July's Mid Month Update

Outside my window . . . Our yard is a work in progress!  We are trying to get our landscape taken out/cleaned up/redone!  It's sunny and beautiful (a tad warm for me) and should be the rest of the week.

I am thinking . . . my to do list today may carry over to the next couple days... it's pretty long!

I am thankful for . . . Allie having 9 days left in her cast!  We've avoided the water all summer so she wouldn't feel left out, so we are planning on spending the whole day in a pool when it comes off.

In the kitchen . . . I'm waiting to put my bran muffins in the oven for breakfast :)

I am wearing . . . my pjs

I am creating . . .  a list of things to look for while thrifting/yard saling.  #1 on my list is a big mirror for the hall bathroom!

I am going . . . to Walmart and PetSmart today.

I am wondering . . . if Krissy is getting more teeth.  She has all the symptoms but I can't see any part of her gums that look super swollen.  If only she could talk....

I am reading . . . homeschool material! We are starting our adventure this month!

I am hoping . . . Shylers re-opens soon!  It's the only BBQ I want!

I am looking forward to . . . a doctor's appt next week.  This pregnancy is flying by!  I'm 16 weeks this week.

I am hearing . . . PBS.  I usually have it on for the kids to watch while I'm getting breakfast ready.

Around the house . . . we are hoping to have an organization overhaul!  I have so many closets and drawers and baskets I need to go through and re-organize!

One of my favorite things . . . is when Kevin is off work.  The kids love having their wrestling partner home, and I enjoy having another adult in the house to talk to.

A few plans for the rest of the week . . . It's the first week we have nothing on the calendar!  I need to get caught up on everything (cleaning/organizing/laundry) and maybe spend a little time on Pinterest.  I've had good luck with some things I've pinned recently!

June's Mid Month Update

Outside my window . . . It's almost 70*, humid, and the sun is shining

I am thinking . . .I just heard the baby - I need to type fast!

I am thankful for . . .our new to us minivan.  We've had it almost two weeks and I feel like I've been missing out for years!  Automatic doors and a DVD player have been so handy!  I'll have to post pics soon.

In the kitchen . . . I'm working on a sock project for Allie.  I couldn't find any socks with grips on the bottom (to go over her cast), so I'm adding puff paint to the bottoms of some socks.  Hope it works!

I am wearing . . . It's 7am, so I'm still in pjs!

I am creating . . . (wanting to create) a menu plan for a whole year.  I'd love to have it done by the end of this year.  It would be so nice

I am going . . . walking by the river this morning, then getting my hair trimmed!

I am wondering . . . when CeCe will be big enough to be outside all the time.  I'm hoping within a couple weeks!

I am reading . . . Made to Crave... Well I started it, but I'm only half way through.

I am hoping . . . The 6 weeks Allie has a cast(s) on goes by quickly!

I am looking forward to . . . celebrating Father's Day this weekend!  I asked Kevin to plan what he wanted to do all day Sunday.

I am hearing . . . Allie raiding the fridge

Around the house . . . I've been sweeping/vacuuming like a mad woman.  Between the puppy and Krissy, they eat everything on the floor they find!

One of my favorite things . . . has been watching Hayden and Allie love on CeCe.  They love carrying her around like a baby.  I'm letting them do it now because in a few weeks she will be too big.  Hayden also talks so sweet to her.

A few plans for the rest of the week . . . Kids have dentist appts next week, and I'm hoping to do lots of laundry, because it's always behind at my house!

April's Mid Month Update

Outside my window . . . It's 70s and sunny!  I love spring!!!

I am thinking . . . it's too pretty outside to be sitting inside!

I am thankful for . . . Pinterest - I love getting new project ideas (some are so practical {like how to get rid of ants}).

In the kitchen . . . I've got sourdough starter rising for homemade cinnamon rolls tomorrow :)

I am wearing . . . pjs :-X I haven't done much today other than laundry and cook!

I am creating . . .booties for Allie's shoes.  She only has the one pair of corrective shoes and it makes me uncomfortable knowing the shoes she walks around in all day end up in bed with her.  The booties will slip over her shoes at night.  It will make me feel better.

I am going . . . to write a letter to someone who wronged me.  It's a great way to get stress off your shoulders, and you don't ever have to send the letter - but it feels good to get the emotions on paper.

I am wondering . . . what do people use their cannisters for?  I use mine for flour and sugar and I'm thinking of putting those ingredients in something else.  It always makes such a mess on my counter.

I am reading . . . Made to Crave by Lysa Terkerst.  It's helping me get motivated to finish losing weight!

I am hoping . . . to join Weight Watchers soon. I love the accountability of having to weigh in once a week.

I am looking forward to . . . getting our yard looking better!  We haven't had the funds to do what we wanted to do in our yard, but this year we are getting the ball rolling!  We started by laying new stone and it's almost time to start planting!  I can't wait to blog about the before and after!

I am hearing . . . the tv.  Hayden loves watching PBS and it gives me a little break while the girls are napping.

Around the house . . . we are trying to use the space we have the most effictively.  Kevin's been such a great help with carrying out all my ideas!

One of my favorite things . . .is drinking good lemonade out of a fun glass.

A few plans for the rest of the week . . .meeting a friend for breakfast, trying a new recipe, picking out plants for our landscape, and spending some time out-fishing the boys!

February Mid Month Update

HAPPY VALENTINE'S DAY!!!

(written last night)
Outside my window . . . it's cold - I'm ready for Spring!

I am thinking . . .I told myself I'd be in bed 50 mins ago...

I am thankful for . . . my relationship with my husband.

In the kitchen . . . Kevin has been so amazing.  He's done most of the dishes, helped cook meals, and he even mopped our floors!

I am wearing . . . jeans and a long sleeve tshirt... and I'm wrapped in a quilt :)

I am creating . . . a million and one sewing projects. So. Much. To. Do!

I am going . . . on a date Friday

I am wondering . . . what Kevin got me for Valentines Day.  He says it's for both of us, and I've guessed several things, but none have been right... and we weren't even supposed to be doing gifts!

I am reading . . . Sacred Parenting

I am hoping . . . we get our tax refund $ back soon!

I am looking forward to . . . So much.  Probably the biggest thing now is my sister coming home in less than a month for her baby showers!  I can't wait!

I am hearing . . . TJ outside barking

Around the house . . . I'm looking at these huge toys (play kitchen, exersaucer) and I'm ready to have a "toy" room!

One of my favorite things . . . are unexpected love notes from my hubby

A few plans for the rest of the week . . .Sew my little heart out, spend lots of time with Kev, enjoy a weekend with my kids, and maybe make some heart shaped cookies today :)

January's Mid Month Update

Outside my window . . . it's chilly but sunny

I am thinking . . . I'm soooo glad Krissy is past her big growth spurt!  She was waking up 1, sometimes 2 times a night, eating a few ounces of forumla, and we were both exhausted!  My perfect sleeper has returned and I'm thoroughly enjoying my solid nights sleep once again :)

I am thankful for . . . my husband helping out with finances.  He's doing the budget and balancing the checkbook, and it takes a small weight off my shoulders, but also helps keep us both in check with our spending.

In the kitchen . . . chaos is on my counter.  I really do try to keep it cleaned off, but how do people do it?  It's the place we eat, the place things land when they come in from outside, it's where I put the mail, make lists, dry bottles, store baked goodies, etc.  I'm a firm believer that you can NEVER have too much cabinet space! A pantry would be amazing too... if we ever move I have a long "must have" list!

I am wearing . . .my normal/everyday wardrobe... jeans, long sleeve tshirt, and uggs

I am creating . . . a valentines garland, and starting the girls Easter outfits

I am going . . . crazy in anticipation for my sister's next ultrasound!  I can't wait to hear 100% what they baby is!

I am wondering . . . what kind of tax refund we'll get this year.  A big check would be fantastic.

I am reading . . . Sacred Parenting - our new book for DOK this semester.

I am hoping . . . to get some pictures hung soon!  (I think I've said this before, but I have everything I need to get them hung, just waiting on the urge to get it done!)

I am looking forward to . . . my date night with Kevin later this week.

I am hearing . . . Hayden and Allie playing (aka destroying their room) while the baby naps.

Around the house . . . things feel bare.  I love having Christmas decor out~!

One of my favorite things . . . is that Hayden and Allie are at a great age to help out!  We have been playing this new game "mommy says" and they get so into it!  "Mommy says put your socks in the dirty clothes", "Mommy says pick the pillows up off the floor", etc - and when they game is over (everything is picked up) they both get a piece of candy.  We usually play once a day while I'm feeding the baby.

A few plans for the rest of the week . . .DOK starts tomorrow, date night this week (as I said earlier), then the normal grind of cooking, cleaning, hopefully blogging, and sewing :)

Decembers Mid Month Update

Outside my window . . . It's dark and chilly

I am thinking . . . I should stop watching the news.  Sometimes I think I'd rather be uneducated and clueless rather than educated and disappointed/angry.

I am thankful for . . . in light of what just happened at Sandy Hook, I feel thankful for everything.  My family, my faith, that there is life after death.

In the kitchen . . . I have really been trying hard to keep my counters cleaned off.  We have this big furry pest, named TJ, that will eat anything (literally) that he can get his paws on!  i.e. bibs, spatulas, and food of any sort.

I am wearing . . . pjs, and I've maybe been wearing them all day.

I am creating . . . scrapbooks for the kids.  My mom gave me the books for mother's day this year and I just now got organized enough to start them.  It's not photo scrapbooks, just pictures they have made or hair Hayden has cut off his sister's head...... yeah, things like that.

I am going . . . to get a gun for Christmas.  I'm so excited to learn how to use it and it's small enough to conceal and take with me if I ever feel the need to.  Let's face it, there are way too many crazy people in this world and you really can't feel safe anywhere anymore.

I am wondering . . . what the new year will hold.

I am reading . . . Nothing at the moment, but I'm sure that will change by the end of the week.  (I have a stack of books on my bookshelf that I want to read, just haven't had time.)

I am hoping . . .my kids stay healthy for the rest of the month!

I am looking forward to . . . seeing lots of friends in the next couple weeks!

I am hearing . . . the TV.  I have been sort of addicted to Fox News since Friday.

Around the house . . . it feels like Christmas.  I added garland to my mantle and some above my kitchen sink, and it feels really warm and cozy :)

One of my favorite things . . . is my fiestaware.  I got a new color for my birthday and it really makes me happy to open my cabinet and see all those bright happy colors!

A few plans for the rest of the week . . . laundry, Christmas shopping, sewing, dinner date with some girl friends, hanging out with my sis, baking for Christmas - it will be a good week!

November's Mid Month Update

Outside my window . . .It's a sunny, beautiful, fall day with temps in the high 40s

I am thinking . . . every year since I can remember, my Christmas decorations get put up the first week of November.  This year, I just realized I'm half way through the month and decorating my house wasn't even on my radar!  I'm hoping this weekend to get them up... we'll see how that goes!

I am thankful for . . .nap time.  Usually the girls will both nap at the same time in the afternoon, and I can occupy Hayden with the tv, so I have some time to read, do dishes, get dinner ready, or nap if I have to.

In the kitchen . . .we have a section on the counter designated for clean bottles and all their pieces.  We let them air dry there.  I have 10 more months of sharing my counter with the bottles, and that doesn't excite me.

I am wearing . . . jeans, uggs, a button up shirt, and a white scarf.  It's the most put together I've been in a while.  (Hayden had a Thanksgiving program today that I went to.)

I am creating . . .several little sewing projects!  I have most of the things cut and pinned and sitting on my counter ready to be sewn.... now if I could just find the time.

I am going . . .to be in birthday mode this weekend.  My sister's birthday is tomorrow and Kevin's is Saturday!

I am wondering . . .why Krissy is spitting up so much!  I've read up on the issue and I'm trying some different things, but nothing really seems to be working.  I guess she is just going to be a baby that spits up a lot?  Also, I'm considering rejoining Weight Watchers.  I'm not sure if I'll be able to stick to it without joining.  I also don't know that I'll stick with the plan if I'm still not sleeping consistently at night.  I'm ready to lose this last 20 some pounds though.

I am reading . . . Sacred Marriage - it's a great book!

I am hoping . . .Kevin gets a deer asap.  I know he is wanting the meat this year, and I'm wanting him back home on the weekends to take care of Krissy so I can sleep.  I'm selfish, I know.

I am looking forward to . . .the month of December.  I'm excited to bake, have the kids open gifts, see family, etc.

I am hearing . . .the tv and baby's swing.  I'm extra tired today so I think I'll be taking a nap once I'm done typing! (Allie was up more than Krissy last night - apparently her sippy cup leaked all in her bed and I didn't realize that had happened until the 3rd time she woke up!)

Around the house . . .I'd love to get more pictures hung up.  I need to move several too.

One of my favorite things . . .are pecans.. I'm really looking forward to pecan pie this thanksgiving!

A few plans for the rest of the week . . . make Kevin's birthday cake, celebrate birthdays, clean the house, decorate the house for Christmas, church, grocery shop, and sew if I get any time!

October's Mid Month Update

Outside my window . . . It's a crisp and sunny fall morning!

I am thinking . . . I need to blog more often.  It's definitely not a matter of having nothing to post, just a matter of having no time!

I am thankful for . . . healthy kids.  I mean they all three have mild colds now, but looking at Lane Goodwin's (13 yr old that has terminal cancer and has been fighting for 3 years) facebook updates daily make me realize how lucky I am!

In the kitchen . . . I have lots of little piles taking over my counter.  My sour dough starter is out so I can make cinnamon rolls for tomorrow, I have butter getting to room temp for the cake I'm making tonight, bottles need put away, and medicine that needs organized and put away!

I am wearing . . .the biggest clothes I own and they are still don't fit.  I'm so ready to lose this pregnancy weight...which requires me exercising and I just don't have it in me right now.

I am creating . . . a list of Christmas gifts I need to buy/make.  I know it's going to be here soon!

I am going . . . to pick up Hayden from church in a bit.  I've missed him!

I am wondering . . . when Amy is going to have her baby!  She has never carried a baby this long and I'm so anxious to see what she is having!!!

I am reading . . . Sacred Marriage (for DOK)

I am hoping . . .Romney wins this election.  There, I said it.  No more politics on my blog :)

I am looking forward to . . . getting TJ moved to the back yard.  Right now he can go all over the yard, but we're having his fence moved.  This will give the kids a space to play dog-free, we won't have to worry about him eating packages left on our porch, and he can't eat things off Kevin's jeep this way! (All of those things have happened btw).

I am hearing . . .KLOVE.  I have it playing on my computer :)

Around the house . . . my floors need cleaned.  I seriously thought about getting one of those vacuums that you just turn on and it cleans your floors for you.  I really could vacuum 3 times a day!

One of my favorite things . . . is sleeping.  I know they say "you'll miss these days" but I don't think I'll ever miss the sleep deprivation!

A few plans for the rest of the week . . . We are planning on getting pumpkins this week for the kids and maybe carving them too :)  I'd like to make some fall desserts too... and hopefully I'll be going to the hospital to visit Amy and her new baby!

September's Mid Month Update

Outside my window . . .it's partly sunny and mid 70s.

I am thinking . . . this may be our last weekend as a family of 4!  (That didn't really hit me until last night!)

I am thankful for . . .Proverbs 31 Ministries.  I love their daily devotional email and I just "liked' their facebook page which posts great things throughout the day.

In the kitchen . . .we have a gnat problem!  Anyone else have them?  I don't know if I brought in with some fruit I brought, but they are driving me nuts!

I am wearing . . .maternity capris and a black maternity shirt that is barely covering my huge belly.

I am creating . . . nothing really.  My focus is on preparing my house for a possible delivery this week, catching up on things I've been putting off, and making sure the kids have a fun next few days.

I am going . . .to pig out the last few days I'm pregnant because I can't be doing that post delivery.

I am wondering . . .if I've dilated to 2cms yet.  I'm really hoping I have!  Patience is clearly something I struggle with....

I am reading . . .I'm finishing Radical by David Platt and I started reading Sacred Marriage for the women's bible study I'm in.

I am hoping . . . the transition from 2 to 3 is as easy as it was from 1 to 2!

I am looking forward to . . . seeing how Hayden and Allie love their new sibling.  They are both so excited and daily argue over who gets to hold the baby first.

I am hearing . . . the Alabama/Arkansas game.  I haven't watched much football this season, but I do love catching a good Alabama game when I have a chance!  Roll Tide~

Around the house . . .We've been trying a new bedtime routine that's working well!  At 7pm we clean up.  The kids both help.  We usually spend 15-20 minutes cleaning (I usually get the vacuum out at some point).  Then Kevin or I give baths and we brush teeth.  This takes another 20 minutes or so.  Next we'll read bible stories for 10-15 minutes, then we get the kids tucked in.  They are usually in bed around 8.  Hayden usually falls right to sleep and Allie usually has to talk for 15+ minutes before she's out.  I really like how this last hour has been going :)

One of my favorite things . . . has been learning how to sew.  My only experience was 7th grade home ec and it has been pretty easy to get my feet wet.  I've got a list of project I want to make (curtains, blankets, things for the kids, skirts for me once I get back to my regular size, the list is endless!)

A few plans for the rest of the week . . .Church tonight, maybe a cookout before baby #3 comes, doctor's appointment Tuesday, and loving on my kiddos as much as possible!

August's Mid Month Update

(Written last night, Tuesday the 14th)
Outside my window . . .it's dark and kinda cool out.

I am thinking . . .that our dog is stressing me out.  He frustrates me, but I love him, and I just don't know what to do with him!  (He escaped his electric fence twice today and we had to turn up the shock on his collar and the fence and he's one depressed pup because he's confused about the boundaries in the yard changing, and of course I feel bad for him!)

I am thankful for . . ."me" time.  And I'm thankful my husband realizes I need it for my sanity :)

In the kitchen . . .there are corn bread crumbs all over my floor.  I had no energy to get on my hands and knees and clean it up tonight... maybe tomorrow I'll let TJ in to lick it all up for me - or maybe I'll just get the vacuum out... probably should stick with the vacuum idea...

I am wearing . . .pajamas and have been all day.  I knew I was going to be doing laundry and cleaning all day and I didn't think I'd see anyone soooo I opted for pjs... and of course I met 2 neighbors for the first time when they returned our dog.  Note to self:  Get dressed in the mornings!

I am creating . . .a baby to do list.  So far I have 24 items on it that need done/made/bought/cleaned before the baby gets here!  Eek!

I am going . . .to take Hayden to the Big Brother class at the Women's Hospital this week (Kevin's going too).  I think he'll love it!  Hopefully I'll remember my camera so I can take some pics!

I am wondering . . .if this baby will come early.  Not getting my hopes up, but I have had lots of early contractions.

I am reading . . .Radical by David Platt.  And, Wow, has it been eye opening!

I am hoping . . . My kids sleep till at least 7 am.  Momma. Needs. Sleep!

I am looking forward to . . . Kevin building our compost bin!  It's something I've wanted to have the last year but I didn't think I'd ever get Kevin on board.  HE came to me with the idea of wanting to build one so of course I was ALL for it!  We have the bin, and he's hoping this weekend to get it all put together!  Looks like maybe next year we'll be ready for that garden I've been wanting!

I am hearing . . . Nothing, and it's wonderful.  We had a loud/tearful day.  Most days my kids gets along great, but today they wouldn't stop picking on each other!

Around the house . . .the first word that came to my mind was "vacuum".  I need to vacuum.  Between the cornbread crumbs, the cat hair, and the general dirt that gets carried in, I'd die if anyone dropped in right now!

One of my favorite things . . . is taking pictures.  I'm throwing around the idea of taking Baby #3's newborn pics...

A few plans for the rest of the week . . .This is the last week my sis is in town (tear) so we'll be having family get togethers, she will be coming over a few mornings to help with nursery things, and I hope to check about half the things off my Baby To Do list!  I'd love to talk Kevin into repainting the nursery after the compost bin is built :)  What can I say, my to do list for him never ends!

July's Mid Month Update

Outside my window . . . It's cloudy, overcast, and looks like rain.  It's rained on and off all morning, but we need it!

I am thinking . . . I could be doing more productive things rather than blogging, but I need to take advantage of it while I have a computer in front of me!  Good excuse, right?

I am thankful for . . . Kevin's job.  I'm lucky I get to stay at home and we still have everything we need.

In the kitchen . . . My homemade bread is rising!

I am wearing . . . pjs and no make up.  Now wouldn't be a good time to stop by!  (The kids are at least dressed!)

I am creating . . . a meal to take to my brother and sister in law tonight!  Hope it's yummy!

I am going . . . to the store when Kevin wakes up.  I need more fruit around here.

I am wondering . . . if I'll be able to full off a nice birthday party for Allie this year - not sure if I'm going to try to go all out or keep things simple.

I am reading . . . Pregnancy books and my bible.

I am hoping . . . Kevin's OT lasts a little longer so we can get a computer this month!

I am looking forward to . . .my sister being home in just a couple weeks!

I am hearing . . .my kids wrestle and play on the couch.  Allie is one tough cookie!

Around the house . . . I've been sticking to my daily cleaning schedule and it really is helping me stay on track!

One of my favorite things . . . is feeling baby #3 dance around in my belly.  It's one of my favorite things about being pregnant!

A few plans for next week . . . Try a couple new dinner recipes, maybe sew a little more, Art Smarts camp at church, and discuss some long term and short term financial goals with Kevin (being grown up can be so over rated - huh?!)

June's Mid Month Update

Outside my window . . .It's dark and pleasant.  A nice summer night!

I am thinking . . . I need to get my rear in gear and start working on baby stuff.  I still feel like I have so much time, but I know September will be here in a flash.

I am thankful for . . . the friends I've made in the last year.

In the kitchen . . . I've made lots of sweets this week!

I am wearing . . . my pjs.

I am creating . . . Father's Day gifts from the kids.

I am going . . . fishing this weekend.

I am wondering . . .if we should add on or move.  It's been the topic of conversation lately between Kevin and I.  We both love our house and neighbors, so we're going to look into the expenses of adding on before we decide to sell.  And we're talking +/-5 years down the road... we just know we want to start saving $$ if we'll be adding on.

I am reading . . . a little bit of everything - sometimes it's just my Proverbs 31 daily emails, sometimes it's the bible... just whatever I feel the need to read!

I am hoping . . .to get a prenatal massage SOON!  It sounds lovely.

I am looking forward to . . .getting the next few weeks behind us.  Lots of big expenses coming up

I am hearing . . .TJ bark, and it freaks me out when he does that and it's dark outside!

Around the house . . . well, I brought our barstools back in from the garage.  I have had them outside for probably 6 months because Allie wouldn't stop climbing them and falling off.  So far this week, she hasn't fallen off, but she did sneak up on the counter and eat a section off the top of my sock-it-to-me cake!

One of my favorite things . . .is having a clean house.... now if I could get the other three people that live in my house on the same page.........

A few plans for the rest of the week . . .celebrate Father's Day, probably make more sweet snacks, maybe facetime with my sis since she got a new iPhone, and take at least 1 walk by the river.

Mid Month Update - April

Holy Smokes, I'm a few days late on this!  Better late than never, right!?
Outside my window . . .it's dark and a tad colder than I prefer

I am thinking . . .I really should have waited till tomorrow to write this post!  (It's past my bedtime!)

I am thankful for . . . my kids.  I let too much little stuff get to me.  I had a bad day this week and was in a bad mood.... after I tucked Hayden in bed he said, "You're the best mommy in the world."  Glad he still loves me on my bad days!

In the kitchen . . .my counter is a DISASTER!!!  We use to leave a lot of "stuff" on the floors.  TJ eats everything that's in his path, so whatever we use to put on the floor, now gets thrown on the counter.  (Trust me, it ain't pretty!)

I am wearing . . . Old Navy jeans, a tshirt I got in junior high, and a sweatshirt jacket!

I am creating . . .a list of things to do before May gets here.  Next month is going to be in-sane!

I am going . . . to bed as soon as I finish this!  Well, I'll try to anyways...

I am wondering . . . if I'm going to miss these puppy days - because I really don't think I will!  All the nipping and peeing - ok I won't start venting!

I am reading . . .Nothing right now!  I almost started a book today, but I chose a nap instead!

I am hoping . . .My energy high lasts many many more weeks!  I hate feeling lazy.

I am looking forward to . . .a date night with Kevin on Sunday.  My usual Sunday show is not on that night, so he's taking me out to dinner then to see The Lucky One.  Can't Wait!

I am hearing . . .My fridge.  It makes all kinds of weird noises... I always think I got a text or alert on my phone, but it's just the fridge!

Around the house . . .my floors are cleaner than they have ever been!  I've sprayed about a whole bottle of hardwood floor cleaners on them this last week cleaning up little "puddles".  Come to think of it, TJ only had one accident inside today!  That's progress!

One of my favorite things . . .is my quiet time at night.  Gives me time to reflect and usually the next day I'm in good spirits :)

A few plans for the rest of the week . . . Well, I got all the laundry done yesterday (all 6 loads, plus the 2 I did the day before), so I guess just cook, do dishes, and take some walks by the river!

March's Mid Month Update

Outside my window . . .it's dark, but warm!

I am thinking . . .about what to make for a family dinner I'm hosting next Tuesday.  Kevin wants rib-eyes, and I don't know if I want to spend that much money on meat!

I am thankful for . . . my DOK class.  I have learned SO much about myself since I started going 7 months ago.  It has truly been such a blessing in my life, and so have all the people I've met!

In the kitchen . . .I have a counter top buried somewhere underneath all the "stuff " on my counter!  It's really bad.... Really.

I am wearing . . . Some jean shorts that I'm hoping fit another few weeks, and a black tshirt.  All of it is my regular clothes (which makes me really happy!)

I am creating . . .a baby?  Ha, ok I really don't have a good answer for this one...

I am going . . .to start Spring cleaning on Friday!  I'm so pumped about it!  I started today by cleaning out my car and I feel a million times better about it.  On my list:  Hayden's room, Allie's room, the hall closet, the hall bathroom, and my closet!  Wish me luck!  Goodwill is going to be getting a big donation from the Devines!  (Kevin will be getting a list too!  Cleaning out the garage and barn are top on his list!)

I am wondering . . .how long all 4 of us are going to have this cold!  Runny noses/stuffy noses/coughs/sore throats.  Blah!

I am reading . . . Finding the Hero in Your Husband.  The book started a little slow for me, but the last few chapters I've read have really made an impact on me!  There are so many things I can be doing better in my marriage!  Maybe I will devote a whole posting to those thoughts this week!

I am hoping . . .my computer doesn't die this week.  There are some days it won't even turn on.  (Which is my only excuse for the slow blog postings!) It kills me to think about spending several hundreds of dollars on another one.

I am looking forward to . . .fishing again!  Kevin, Hayden, & I went on Tuesday and we had so much fun!  We might go again this weekend!  Just for the record, I caught 2, and Kevin caught 1!  I have pictures to prove it :)

I am hearing . . .Silence, and it's lovely!

Around the house . . . The grass is turning green and flowers are blooming!  Hello Spring!

One of my favorite things . . . is when Hayden tells me "You're the best Mommy".  He's been saying it at least once a day!  I don't ever want him to grow up!

A few plans for the rest of the week . . . Clean, grocery shop, menu plan, bake a festive cake for St. Patrick's Day, read, and snuggle my babies!

February's Mid Month Update

Outside my window . . .very foggy

I am thinking . . .why are both of the kids still asleep?  Hayden is usually up before 7.

I am thankful for . . .being healthy.  I had the flu on Sunday and trying to take care of both kids, let Kevin sleep, and keep from feeling like I was dying was a hard task.  Thankfully my parents grabbed Hayden for a few hours and I got a good nap while Allie napped.

In the kitchen . . .my homemade sour dough bread is rising.

I am wearing . . .jeans and a long sleeve v-neck shirt.  My feet are cold so I need to put on socks.

I am creating . . .a list of pros and cons whether or not Kevin should mow again this year.  (He asked me to.)

I am going . . .to take the kids to the library today.  I just realized the last week or two I've been keeping busy and not reading to the kids as much as I should have.

I am wondering . . .if my sister in law is having a boy or girl!  We'll find out Monday!

I am reading . . .Finding the Hero in Your Husband

I am hoping . . .tonight goes by fast.  I'm ready for Kevin to get a few days off work.

I am looking forward to . . . Allie's 4 new teeth finally coming through.  The girl has been a down right monster!  (I'm really not exaggerating!)

I am hearing . . .noises from Allie's room.  I think she's waking up...

Around the house . . .there are pillows everywhere.  Hayden had a pillow fight last night and I just realized I didn't pick up the pillows before I went to bed.  I will let him do that when he wakes up :)

One of my favorite things . . .to eat, is strawberry pretzel salad.  I'm making it on Monday and it's sounded good for several days!

A few plans for the rest of the week . . .tomorrow we're taking my in-laws to Log Inn to celebrate their 40th anniversary, Sunday we're going to mom and dads for lunch or dinner, Monday we are finding out the gender of my new neice/nephew AND eating strawberry pretzel salad :)

January's Mid Month Update

Outside my window . . . it's dark and f-f-f-freezing

I am thinking . . . I need to browse pinterest when I'm done blogging.

I am thankful for . . . health insurance.  My last trip to the ER cost almost $3000 and I only have to pay $75.  How do people make it w/o insurance?!

In the kitchen . . . I have a pile of dirt on my counter.  Seriously.  You'll see why later this week, or maybe next.

I am wearing . . . jeans and a long sleeved Gap tshirt I got new with tags while thrifting :)

I am creating . . . a must do list for tomorrow (laundry is #1 on the list!)

I am going . . . to Hobby Lobby tomorrow to buy some ribbon so I can make Allie a few new hairbows.  And browse their Valentines stuff.

I am wondering . . . where in the world you find Mason jars this time of year!  Everyone looks at me crazy when I ask for them!

I am reading . . . Bringing Up Boys.  I'm scared for the teenage years.  But, on the other hand, I've never had a problem talking about anything so Hayden is in store for lots of awkward conversations with his mom and dad 10 years from now!

I am hoping . . . to get our beach vacation booked this week!

I am looking forward to . . . DOK starting this week!

I am hearing . . . the dishwasher.

Around the house . . . there are so many little things that need done that I can't do (or don't know how to do).  I might just make a little to-do list for the hubby ;)

One of my favorite things . . . are Valentines decorations.  Hoping to get a few new things made this year!

A few plans for the rest of the week . . . enjoy some time off with Kevin, take Allie to her Orthopedic Surgeon (pray for a good check-up), read any spare chance I get, try to convince Kevin I need a new sewing machine (hint hint hubby), and make strawberry pretzel salad!

December's Mid Month Update

Here is December's Mid Month Update (a few days late):

Outside my window . . . it's dark and cold

I am thinking . . . about getting an iPhone

I am thankful for . . . my husband and the conversations we share at night.  Some nights we have light humorous conversations and others we have deep conversations complete with tears and all.  It's one part of our marriage I cherish the most.

In the kitchen . . . my counter tops are covered with clutter.

I am wearing . . . A green Old Navy tshirt and Gap jeans.

I am creating . . . lists of food I'm taking to each party I'm attending.

I am going . . . to finish my Christmas shopping tomorrow!

I am wondering . . . what the next year holds for my family.

I am reading . . . Silver Boxes.  It's about paying attention to your words and making sure you are building people up and not tearing them down.

I am hoping . . . to get LOTS of baking done this week!

I am looking forward to . . . my sis being home THIS week!

I am hearing . . . the tv.  Kevin is channel surfing.

Around the house . . . are toys, jackets, shoes....... I need to be cleaning rather than blogging!

One of my favorite things . . .are my Uggs.  I have the coldest feet!

A few plans for the rest of the week . . . shop, bake, bake, bake, see my sis, then lots of Christmas parties!

Pondering these words . . .2 Corinthians 12:10 "That is why, for Christ’s sake, I delight in weaknesses, in insults, in hardships, in persecutions, in difficulties. For when I am weak, then I am strong."

November's Mid-Month Update

Usually I spend my free time reading new blogs and catching up on my favorites.  Today I stumbled across a neat blog.  Marybeth Whalen writes for Proverbs 31 Ministries and I really enjoy her devotions.  One of her posts last week was titled "The Simple Woman's Daybook" and it just gave you a quick glance into her life... I really enjoyed reading it!  I decided to start my own, but call it a "Mid-Month Update".  Since my life is far less exiting than hers, I figured I could come up with something to write about monthly rather than weekly.

Here goes Novermber's Mid Month Update:

Outside my window . . . sunny and 50s and windy - Brrrr!

I am thinking . . . of all I should be doing around the house and what I need to prepare for our Thanksgiving festivities.

I am thankful for . . . healthy kids.  Lately it's been day by day - but today they are healthy!

From the kitchen . . . I see 2 baskets of laundry sitting on my counter that need to be put away.

I am wearing . . . Old Gap jeans that are to big, a pink Old Navy short sleeve shirt and a light blue Old Navy Fleece.

I am creating . . . Thanksgiving and Fall crafts for the kids in my MMO class.  I love having kids at home that can be my craft guinea pigs!

I am going . . . to Walmart when Kevin gets home from hunting today. *Saying a little prayer that Bambi's dad walks by Kev today so he won't have to spend anymore time in the woods!*

I am wondering . . . if I've done enough for Kevin's birthday tomorrow.  I'm usually over the top on birthdays, but his just snuck up on me this year.

I am reading . . . my bible. I have a list of about a dozen books I want to read and I'm hoping to get into that group after Thanksgiving! (Most are Christian parenting books).

I am hoping . . . to get a pedicure in the very near future!  My poor toes need some holiday cheer!

I am looking forward to . . .Seeing some wild animals and getting my picture with them at the circus next week!

I am hearing . . . silence.  The kids and cats are napping.

Around the house . . . there are cracker crumbs, shoes, toys - all calling my name to be picked up.  But hey, all the pukey laundry is done!

One of my favorite things . . .is decorating for Christmas - and we've already started!  While I was putting up a big tree in our family room, Hayden was jumping up and down screaming, "I LOVE THIS DAY!"

A few plans for the rest of the week . . . Mothers Morning Out tomorrow, Make Kevin some birthday cupcakes, Kevin's birthday dinner in the evening (he hasn't decided where we'll go) and probably church on Saturday night.

Pondering these words . . . “The truth might hurt, but the truth also heals.”
