August Highlights

I have so much fun putting these little monthly highlight videos together!  August was a great month!  We celebrated Allie's birthday, ended summer break, started school, hatched new chicks, missed school to watch the eclipse, boated, and had a lot of fun in between!  Hope you enjoy the video!

May 2017 Highlights

One of my favorite things to do at the beginning of a new month is to look back at the past month.  I take hundreds, sometimes thousands, of pictures each month on my iPhone.  I like to pick my favorites from that month and put them in a flip-a-gram.  May turned out to be a great month!  It was also VERY busy!  Here are a list of some of the highlights:

P.S. I posted on my Instagram yesterday that I had decided to take a break from it the next two months.  One of my favorite friends, who is also part of my wise counsel, talked to me about her break from all social media and how it's been refreshing for her soul.  It got me thinking... and then it seemed everywhere I turned I'd hear about people taking a break so they can make more real life connections/memories/interaction, and I decided I wanted to take part in a break too.  And I decided yesterday!  So, I'm hoping to keep my blog a little more up to date while enjoying these next couple months with the kids and Kevin!  :)

I love making flip-a-grams each month with pictures I've taken on my phone.  My phone is the "camera" I usually have on me, and it's how I take most of my snapshots.  I feel like these videos really capture our month well :)

Happy Anniversary

My parents are celebrating their 40th wedding anniversary today!

Friday morning, I went to their house while my dad was mowing.  I was being vague and just told dad I was looking for some pictures.  I went through photo albums and snapped pictures on my phone of them throughout the 40 years they've been married.  I came home, put them in a flipagram, added some music, and voila!  I didn't show it to them right away though.  We took them to one of our favorite family restaurants, Log Inn, for dinner to celebrate that evening.  After dinner and dessert I texted them the link to the video.  They both told me how fun it was to look back at all the pictures and see how they've changed over the years.  

Mom & Dad,

I'm so thankful for your example of marriage.  Growing up, I never worried about you splitting up, and I appreciate that gift of stability in my life.  Having been married 9 years now, I understand the highs and lows that come along with the package of being married.  How neat is it that you've endured all the good and bad and shared 40 years of life together?  Watching us kids grow, get married, then have babies... I can't think of anything more rewarding in life!   

I hope this next chapter of your life is filled with tons of: good memories, good health, retirement, vacations, get-a-ways to Christmas Lake, and enjoying your empty nest together :) Thank you for being my parents!  I love you!

Hog Wrestling

Last Saturday, Kevin and his men's bible study group took part in the hog wrestling contest at the Dale Fall Fest.  They didn't come in first place, but it was highly entertaining and they have all said they want to do it again next year!  In the video, Kevin starts on in the back left.  Please excuse the screaming wife in the background! ;)
