Scotty's Brewhouse

After spending the afternoon at the Children's Museum, we were all hungry and ready for dinner!  I had google searched a few dinner options and asked Candice which was the best.  She thought we'd love Scotty's Brewhouse.  It was downtown and close to the museum.  It was family friendly, although when we were there, there was only one or two other families with kids.  We all L-O-V-E-D our food!  Outside seating was an option but we decided to sit inside.
The restaurant was the bottom floor of a high rise building.

Their menu was huge.  They literally had something for everyone!

These are my favorite drinking glasses and I loved the big towel napkins instead of little paper ones!
Krissy slept through the first part of dinner.
She woke up bright eyed and ready to eat!
I got a bacon cheeseburger and their shoestring fries.  I cleaned my plate.  It was amazing.
Candice definitely went with the healither option and now looking back at the pictures,  I feel like a pig.  Ha!  She had a chicken sandwich.
Kevin had a buffalo chicken wrap and seasoned waffle fries (think Arbys curly fries + chick fil a waffle fries)  that were probably the best fries I've ever eaten.
Hayden had a cheeseburger and fruit (and lots of our fries)
Allie had cheeseburger and mac & cheese (and lots of our fries)
We had their chocolate chip cookie/ice cream dessert.  It was very good, but it will be hard for anyone to beat a Hacienda Mudslide!
The bathrooms had extra fancy Dyson hand dryers!

We will definitely make it a point to eat here anytime we are in Indy in the future!  Yum!

Weekend Trip to Indy

I had been chatting with my friend Candice for over a year about visiting Indy!  She moved there a few years ago and I have been wanting to come visit for awhile.  At the beginning of Hayden's kindergarten year, I decided we'd make a field trip up there and visit the zoo and Children's Museum.  I had heard great things about both, and Candice hadn't met Krissy or Austin yet and we decided it was time.  Our weekend trip took awhile to plan out, but we were all excited when it finally arrived!  Last weekend we enjoyed a great weekend family get-away!

Here are some pics at the Children's Museum:

EVERYTHING at the zoo is hands-on, and the kids LOVED that (and so did the parents)!

There was a fantastic water area that Krissy thought was the greatest thing!

After Krissy got soaked, Candice showed us they had jacket type things you could put on your kids to keep them dry!
We were so thankful Candice went with us!
Once we pulled Krissy away form the water, she really enjoyed the flying butterflies!
Allie loved the squirrel puppet!
This was a lilly pad area for the kids to play on.  Kevin got in too!
They even had a place for Austin to play!
She didn't want to put the squirrel down.
This play area blew winds and made the scarves fly around!

Hayden enjoyed playing with these balls.
Candice had a little tea party with Hayden & Allie.
 Pictures from the zoo:
One of my favorites from the weekend.  Hayden lit up when the polar bear swam by us!
Austin enjoyed the zoo while he was awake!
I convinced Kevin that V-neck shirts would look nice on him and I'm glad he finally agreed!  He pushed the stroller most of the time we were at the zoo! (True Story:  I was very annoyed with the poor turning of the stroller and after Kevin pushed it a bit, he realized the front wheel brakes were on! :-X  Glad he got that figured out!  It pushes like a dream now.)
Family pic at the zoo
One of my favorite pics of the two of them!
We had some dippin dots and frozen lemonades to cool off before we wrapped up our day at the zoo!
Hayden picked the pink flower behind my ear and wanted to take my picture.  Kevin says its one of his favorite pictures of me.  Maybe Hayden will be a picture taker like his mama!  (He also picked a flower for Candice and Allie... he's going to make one heck of a husband some day... he's sweeping my floor as I type and I didn't even ask him to!  Totally serious!)
Allie was passed out shortly after we left the zoo.
It didn't take long for Hayden to do the same!

We had such a great weekend in Indy, and we were so excited to visit with my friend Candice!  If you have thought about going to the zoo or museum in Indy, I'd highly recommend them!
And Candice:  Thanks for being a fantastic host, helping us choose a dinner place that's now one of our all time favorites, being patient when we were late, and helping with the kids!  We probably would have lost one or two along the way if you hadn't been there!  We can't wait till we see you again!

VBS 2014

Hayden and Allie have spent the week at VBS at our church!  They have had a great time, learned a lot, and met new friends along the way!  Each day they dressed to a theme (super hero, favorite sports team, inside out, and camo) and today was crazy hair day!  They both were so excited to get their hair done this morning!  I made then pose for some pictures before going to class this morning!

Today's Pics

I love trying to capture a cute photo of each kiddo during the day!  I don't try every day but probably once a week!  Here are my four favorite from today!
He is so sweet to his siblings! (Most of the time!)
We had an chat over ice cream today!
I started cutting holes in her pacis this afternoon and she thought they were the greatest chew toys ever.  We will see what she thinks tonight at bedtime!  I have a feeling she will be over the fun part and want a real paci!
Mr. Roly Poly... I laid him on the floor mat in the back of the picture and about 45 seconds later he was all the way across the floor!

My favorite photo editing app for my iPhone pics is called Afterlight. It was either $.99 or $1.99, but I use it frequently and enjoy it!  Give it a try if you've been on the hunt for one :)

Preparing for a Yardsale

I've spent multiple hours this past week getting stuff ready for a big yardsale later this month!  We are starting to sell baby clothes and baby items that we are no longer using (along with gobs of toys and anything else that's cluttering my house!).  Since I love to yardsale shop, I feel like I have an insiders perspective on how to set ours up. I'm hoping to have an organized sale that's easy to shop.  My biggest goal is to get all my baby clothes on hangers.  I've left it up to Kevin to work out the logistics (what to use/how to hang that much weight), and I'm pricing everything individually and sizing the clothes too!

Krissy idea of helping is picking price stickers off and rearranging piles of clothes, and when I try to stop her I usually am dealing with this...

So, I give up on making progress to give her attention.  It's a long process but I'm hoping to make some extra cash for our first family Florida vacation!

Laundry Schedule

Ive had a hard time accepting that my laundry will never be "done".  Even when I think I'm caught up, I'm not.  I'm realizing that I need to make laundry an everyday chore, because trying to do it a couple days a week is so overwhelming (and quite frankly, just doesn't happen)!  I made a new laundry schedule. It consist of doing 14-21 loads of laundry over 6 days throughout week.  I'm going to try this schedule for the entire month of June and reevaluate at the end of the month, tweaking whatever needs tweaked.
